The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2011

This directive requires websites to disclose how "cookies" are utilised by the host server.

Cookies and use of the QuickCalc website:

"QuickCalc's use of cookies is minimal. When a user logs onto the online QuickCalc system a cookie is set, telling our server that they have logged in and their session is active. This cookie persists until the web browser is closed and is then deleted. The function of the cookie is to ensure that the QuickCalc system can only be used by a currently logged-in user with a valid license.

That is the full extent of cookie utilisation on the QuickCalc website.

All of the calculations performed by the QuickCalc tools are done entirely on the end-user's equipment within the web browser software and none of the form information entered flows back to our servers. Some of the calculators save entries across sessions but this is also done locally within the browser application without any information going back to our servers.

We therefore do not offer the user any options concerning cookies and logging in with a username and password implies consent to the limited cookie use within the site."
